Finance and Payroll AssistantCompany Description: My client is a logistics business for the creative sector, established in 1970s, they have a world-class reputation for providing solutions to logistics in their sector, working with some of the worldsmost prestigious institutions.Job title: Finance & Payroll Assistant Reports to: Financial Controller Hours of work: Full time Job purpose This is an integral and varied role sitting within a Finance team of six. At its core, you will assist the FinancialController by reviewing and compiling payroll information, checking for accuracy and calculating wages due across a payroll of 100-120 employees. You will also be responsible for general ledger accounting tasks, preparation of the VAT return as well as providingcover for other Finance roles. Key tasks Process and review of weekly and monthly payrolls in line with company deadlines Oversee the processing and payment of staff and trip expenses as well as petty cash claims Produce the bank reconciliations for all companybank accounts Prepare quarterly VAT returns for review by Financial Controller Upload payroll journals and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for payroll, pension, tax & NI as well as staff loan and petty cash accounts Prepare and maintain pensionupload records, welcome packs and enrolment of new joiners Partner with HR to ensure all changes are captured and reporting obligations are met Produce routine and ad-hoc reports from the payroll system Manage and resolve payroll queries, being the point ofcontact between staff and the payroll provider Assist in the provision of information for the annual audit Provide holiday cover for other team members Skills & personal qualities Payroll processing experience using relevant systems (ADP Freedom desirablebut not essential) Knowledge of payroll procedures, statutory deductions and related legislation AAT (Level 4) / equivalent advantageous, or qualified by experience Highly numerate, organised and with excellent attention to detail Computer literate, includinggood Excel skills A willingness to learn and support the team where required A clear communication style, with the confidence to build relationships across the business Ability to work to strict deadlines Self-motivated and ability to manage own workload withminimal supervision
