To achieve this, Shell follows an Avoid-Reduce-Offset action hierarchy. The Environmental Products Trading Business (EPTB) has a key role to play in thishierarchy to provide carbon offset in hard to abate sectors. Shell EPTB will work to (i) invest in natural ecosystemdeveloping high-quality natural carbon sinks with environmental and social co-benefits, (ii) trade and market carbon credits in voluntaryand compliance markets, and (iii) offer Shell customers a choice to offset, or compensate, their own emissions generated from select products that they buy from Shell.EPTB is an exciting space to work in the middle of the energy transition, with high deal activity in the form of new (joint) venture set up, M&A, structured finance and offtakes.
