Water is essential to life, so our business is always open.What you will be doingYou will lead and guide a team comprising of Network Telemetry Technicians and Technical leads. Which work on the Thames Water network, trunk mains and network assets. The team will be offering network service resource for asset upgrade, replacement activities,automation, and accurate calibrated and verified instrumentation. You will also ensure the team deliver end to end service up to and including work on SCADA systems.You will guide and ensure the team are conforming to HSEQ guidelines and demonstrating best practice in both Health and Safety and Asset Maintenance. In doing this you will ensure the team offer the correct technical services to ensure asset availability andoperability are maintained to the highest level. My team will be working on complex assets in the MICA portfolio.You will be responsible for managing a team of skilled Telemetry technicians carrying out field investigations into complex operational problems, identifying solutions to improve operational efficiency and network visibility, this role is carried out both inthe office and in the field, you will help drive performance and improvement in a multitude of asset classes within the Telemetry arena of Network Maintenance with a portfolio consisting of District Meters, CnusMod, Critical Pressure points (CPPs) Bulk Meteringand WhizKey.Main accountabilities of this role include:

  • Being responsible for effectively delivering the H&S and Wellbeing of all members of the team and those working on the Network.
  • Managing the team to deliver an exceptional service to our customers and ensuring they trust us and the service we provide.
  • Keeping a committed drive on following budgetary and financial activities of the team and suggesting improvements to management.
  • Responsible for delivering the performance and delivery of Proactive and Reactive activities under the MEICA portfolio to ensure these assets can achieve optimal performance.
  • Delivering successful first-time network maintenance operations by co-ordinating upgrade, repair, and replacement of inoperable and unavailable assets.
What should you bring to the role
  • Strong skills in operations, maintenance, engineering, finance, H&S, stakeholder engagement and customer focus.
  • Water Network experience and must have proven experience in pressure management of Water Supply, distribution systems and Maintenance.
  • Excellent people and performance management skills.
  • Strong health and safety and customer-based ethic.
  • Excellent organisational and activity management skills.
  • Mechanical/ Instrumentational background with network asset knowledge and awareness of SCADA/ Aorta.
