Job Description

Export - Import CoordinatorTateossian London has a unique opportunity to join the Production Team in their London Head Office in SW6 as Export-Import Controller, taking charge of all Shipping to over 70 countries and arranging for all goods to be sent out daily to customers around the world.This is a hands-on role, carrying out all required administration and liaising with freight forwarders as well as internal departments to deliver first class customer service in compliance with current and future Brexit law.You must be able to work in an autonomous role, ready to take on the Brexit challenges and act as go to person providing expertise for all shipping queries.The Job

  • Managing the shipping of all customer orders to designated territories worldwide via air, road and sea freight
  • Arranging for all shipments to be put correctly through the inhouse system and dispatch with correct documentation
  • Leading in reviewing and implementing the Company Brexit strategy for import and export to ensure that the Company is compliant for the transition to January 2021 and beyond
  • Keep up to date with Trade Compliance legislation including checking that we are using the correct tariff according to current and new import and export legislation
  • Monitor shipping costs to ensure that company minimizes expenditure
  • Obtain quotations and arrange collections with freight forwarders
  • Complete required documentation to assist goods whilst in transit ensuring customer orders reach final destination in time
  • Ensure all shipments are in compliance with customs request and regulations
  • Raising and checking invoices
  • Manage daily workflow and prioritise dispatching to meet customer requirements and departmental targets
  • Administrative duties including updating spreadsheets, filing and archiving
  • Pro-actively liaising with colleagues and external customers on shipment details, dispatch notes and last- minute enquiries
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge and share this with colleagues or train others as required
  • Collaborate with Finance and liaise with HMRC regarding auditing requirements as required
  • Uphold Company policies and procedures and maintain Company confidentiality as required
  • Carry out additional tasks beyond your usual role, to ensure that the needs of the business are met
  • About You
  • At least 5 years experience in a Logistics and Supply Chain role for a global business with Head Office in London
  • Experience in hands on role, shipping goods globally, using correct codes and required customs documentation
  • Worked in stand alone shipping role with accountability for importing and exporting goods to correct standards and deadlines
  • Degree educated or similar qualification, ideally in related subject
  • Excellent understanding of UK and global customs procedures for exporting goods
  • Strong knowledge of global and UK customs procedures for importing goods
  • Used to working unsupervised and using own initiative as well as working as part of a small team
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow up promptly to meet deadlines
  • Positive attitude and lead by example during challenging times
  • Team player with a customer centric approach to colleagues and clients
  • Excellent verbal and written English
  • Logical thinker, attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Very good Ms Office skills and experience in using a bespoke in- house systems
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy and dynamic environment
  • Hands- on approach and willing to get stuck in to get the job done
