About the jobExpense Line Controller PMYour field of responsibilityThe Enterprise Architecture and Value Management (EAVM) function combines responsibilities of the legal entity strategy team with a new value management unit. Our goal is to ensure that we drive a strategic, enterprise-wide program to increase theefficiency of our organisational structure, reduce complexity and release resources to fund new investments across my client global businessWithin the EAVM function we have identified 4 lead roles for expense categories in the Expense Line Control Function responsible for the delivery of cost control and saving initiatives across the Group. These roles will be responsible for developing multiplecost efficiency initiatives and managing those through execution to fulfilment. The role will need to cultivate key partnership with other collaborators particularly with, COOs/CFOs in the Business Divisions/Corporate Functions, Procurement and Expense SMEsKey Roles & ResponsibilitiesSupply Management

• Holistic management and challenge of the supply costs of the expense line across the Firm e.g., contractor suppliers rate, working with Procurement to ensure standard practice & benchmarking across expense line

Demand Management by Division/Function

• Implementing demand framework and governance across expense lines
• Establishing chairing & participating in key expense cost committees

Reporting

• Providing visibility and accountability for expense line Targets and Actuals in partnership with the Businesses and Functions (via enhanced MI and expense scorecards etc)
• Working in partnership with the Business Divisions and Functions to set targets across expense lines
• Measurement and reporting of savings initiative impact, identifying important metrics
• Identifying and reporting on Investment and Run spend across the expense line

Control

• Detailed review & development of policies and demand management
• ELCs embedded in key approval chains to coordinate demand management and approval process e.g. "No Purchase Order / No Pay policy" enforced
• Expense lines are not fungible, Business and Functions will be performance tracked per account line

Project Management

• Development of identification, prioritisation and delivery of expense line saving initiatives
• Oversight of expense line relevant projects e.g., Spans and Layers, Workforce Strategy, BCE reviews, Professional Services 3rd party spend reviews

Your skills and experienceYou will be a hard-working individual with a proven background delivering projects and experience of data analysis across multiple business lines and functions, either within consulting, a financial services project management role or a finance role.You will have the following skills and experience

• Previous experience in defining cost initiatives and program delivery across a financial institution
• Effective at working with a variety of partners across to define and document potential cost saving initiatives
• Confident in constructively challenging partners on assumptions or approach, and supporting decision making
• Proven project management experience
• Passion for collaboration, execution excellence and process efficiency
• Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure
• Phenomenal written and interpersonal communication skills
• Dedication to fostering an inclusive culture and value diverse perspectives

Role Title: Line Controller PMUmbrella Rate: £772.47Duration: 6 months initiallyLocation:Canary Wharf (this will be office based for at least 3 days a week.
