Applications are to be made by clicking apply now and EDDRP UK will review, shortlist and interview.About EDDRP UKThe Accelerating Detection of Disease (ADD) Challenge is a bold new initiative which aims to enrol the worlds largest-ever cohort of 30+ year olds over the course of their lifetime and enabling approved researchers around the world to analyse their data and develop interventions in early disease, especially in pre-symptomatic stages.This is an incredible opportunity to join a fantastic team at the start of a project which is truly mission led. In this role you will have a tangible impact on improving health, longevity and wellbeing of millions of people now and into the future.The project was announced in summer 2018 with £79m government funding approved by HM Treasury with further investment and support expected to be provided by industry and charities. The founding team are working on the pilot with an anticipated launch in October.The role summary:The epidemiologist will be part of a growing scientific team who will contribute to various aspects during the design and development stage of the project in order to ensure that we launch a truly inclusive cohort across the UK. The Epidemiologist will be responsible for contributing to research output and preparing peer-reviewed manuscripts and in time will provide formal scientific review of research applications to use ADDs data and samples and to give epidemiological guidance to researchers who wish to use the resource. They will also contribute to the scoping and potential piloting of work involved to link the cohort to new data sources for record linkage purposes.Key Responsibilities of the role will include:The main responsibility of this role will be to work with the Chief Scientific Advisor and the wider Executive team to help define the specifications of the scientific aspects of the programme including but not limited to design of the cohort/platform recruitment profile - including cohort diversity/inclusivity measurements - both self-reported and in person biological sampling, resampling strategy outcome, and Event Ascertainment scientific protocols.This will require you to:
