Job Description

Our client a private investment management group is seeking an individual on a six to twelve month basis to act as an Executive Assistant and work closely with one of the firms senior managers.Depending on job performance and the skill set of the individual involved, the job may also become permanent and the specifications may evolve as the individual takes on additional responsibilities.Amongst other things, the role will include:

  • Information gathering from the companys documents and files to assist the senior manager in writing financial and academic articles and, potentially, a book
  • Researching technical and historical matters related to the asset management industry as a whole, editing documents and sourcing technical literature.
  • Production of investment reports in Adobe Acrobat as well as creating and editing presentations in PowerPoint
  • Maintaining the senior managers diary including arranging meetings, lunches, booking restaurants and transportation
  • Circulating and proofreading research, emails, notes and correspondence
  • Typing letters, memos, minutes, fielding telephone calls and ordering publications
  • Arranging overseas travel and itineraries to include firm and personal travel
  • Providing cover (from time to time) for other assistants, including reception and switchboard duties
The ideal candidate will have:
  • An interest in asset management and financial markets
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • A strong understanding of the English language will be required
  • A degree in English or History may lend itself well to the research and writing projects or an undergraduate or graduate degree in and/or prior experience of journalism, writing or business research projects may prove helpful
  • Ability to take dictation by shorthand is preferred, but not mandatory
  • Strong analytical and writing skills
The ability to manage time effectively and work on multiple tasks for the business outside of typical EA responsibilities
