Job Description

Support our students! We are looking to hire casual Exam Scribes for various exam periods. You will need strong literacy skills as you will be required to work with students with a range of SEND needs to support them with their examinations access arrangements.This will include: Reading examination questions Scribing Hours of work will be as notified in advance by the Examinations Officer.About UsHarris Academy Greenwich is a happy and successful inner-city London 11-18 school with a thriving 6th Form, and a brandnew state-of-the-art building. In short, we want our students to live well.Our students are very proud to be a part ofour school community because they know that this is a place where they can Step into their Greatness.Main Areas of ResponsibilityYou will support the Exams Officer with the day-to-day operation of examination venues. Activities may include: Scribing ReadingExamination Questions Assisting with setting-up examination venues by laying out stationery, equipment and examination papers in accordance with strict procedures. Assisting candidates prior to the start of examinations by directing them to their seats andadvising them about possessions permitted in examination venues. Ensuring that candidates do not talk once inside examination venues. Invigilating during examinations, dealing with queries raised by candidates and dealing with examination irregularities inaccordance with strict procedures. Checking attendance during examinations. Recording details of late arrivals. Escorting candidates from venues during the examinations as required, and supervising candidates whilst outside examination venues. Collecting andcollating scripts at the end of the examination in accordance with strict procedures. Assisting with the preparation of script envelopes. Supervising candidates leaving examination venues, ensuring that candidates do not remove equipment or stationery fromthe venue without authorisation and ensuring that candidates leave venues in an orderly and quiet manner.You will also assist Examinations Office staff with other examination processes. Activities may include: Assisting with the packing of examination papers,stationery and equipment prior to the examinations and the delivery to and from venues as appropriate.
