Tech Circus is one of the UK’s fastest-growing event start-ups. We curate educational and networking events that focus on the markets of User Experience, Design and Product. In 2020, having grown to 10 employees and 70+ events a year, Tech Circus responded to rapid changes in the industry and evolved their offering into an online format. Tech Circus TV was born - and now features multiple series and engaging formats for the UX, Product & Design community.Each conference has now also added Virtual Editions’ which will work alongside physical events, and ambitions for the future are even greater. Having come a long way from pub events, Tech Circus is still as committed as ever to the values of providing open access to education in Tech; with the overall aim to help every member of their community learn, connect and grow.This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and rapidly expanding team and be instrumental in supporting the expansion of their events offering across 2020 and beyond.As Events Coordinator, you will work alongside the current product team to organise and run the UX Crunch meet-up events, support the current team with the development of new events.This role requires an individual with proven event management experience and with a passion for modern technology, whether directly in the running of events or through proven personal interest.You will be responsible for curating and hosting events, liaising with Tech Circus’ speakers, clients, event sponsors and other third party suppliers, to piece together each event, and will work alongside marketing and sales teams to deliver engaging event descriptions which drive ticket sales and maximise exposure for sponsors and speakers alike.Ideally, the right candidate will have experience with social media to tweet and post whilst at events.Tech Circus is seeking someone who is not afraid of getting stuck in from day one. They require a candidate with the strength of character and administrative competence to devise and develop events in their own way but also work cohesively with other business units to deliver excellent event experiences.Core competencies include:• Graduate degree (or similar relevant qualifications)• Minimum 2 years experience in events (conference or training experience preferred)• Proven business/creative writing experience - will be expected to write event synopses andliaise with high-profile clients via email• Competence using Google Suite - Gmail/sheets/docs/calendar• Budget management experience• Passion for digital is a big advantage - UX/Design/SEO/Creative Design/Future Tech (preferred)• Experience in website content management (preferred)• Experience in creating social media posts and content• Organisational skills to manage the organisation and curation of multiple events at one time• Public speakingThe ideal candidate for this role would be:• Outgoing and friendly - Excited to own the ongoing relationship with Tech Circus sponsors,speakers and clients as required• Ambitious - looking for an opportunity to develop oneself and the passion to create new eventswhich will grow new revenue streams for the business and serve our growing community• Strong administrative capabilities - organised, logical and methodical in approach to all work.• Passion for technology - Digital products, future technology etcThis role would suit an experienced Event Assistant, keen to gain experience and take the reins!
