Job Description

We are recruiting for an award winning, innovative freight forwarding company who are at the forefront of digital freight forwarding.Key responsibilities will include:

  • Reporting to European Procurement Manager you will assist with the delivery of our global ocean freight strategy and support with pulling data together to make long term decisions
  • Managing customer or operations enquiries relating new or existing European transport requirements
  • Be the lead for sourcing third party transport suppliers
  • Providing customers with quotations and keeping them updated on progress
  • Reviewing routes and suppliers to ensure transport is planned cost effectively
  • Maximise profitability across the European transport operation
  • Be the owner for systems data maintenance
  • Support European procurement with European network partner selection, on-boarding, compliance, platform roll out & training and be the intel lead for anything network related
  • To support and lead special projects relating to the global network which drive cost savings or service improvement for our business and customers
  • You can take action and appreciate the chaos--things go wrong, be proactive and find solutions
  • Undertaking any other duties which may be requested by your line manager, for which training and/or an explanation has been provided and understood
    • Key skills required for the role:
  • Previous experience within a European transport role
  • European transport planning experience
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Methodical and thorough approach to work
  • Highly organised with the ability to remain focused under pressure
