Job Description

About our clientOur client, a leading mid-market private equity firm is looking for a Sustainability & ESG Associate/Senior Associate to join its high performing team in the firms London office. A great opportunity to join a dynamic firm looking to build on a market-leadingapproach to ESG at firm and portfolio level. What the job involves

  • Support the implementation of the firms ESG approach, ensuring value creation throughout the lifetime of the investments
  • Closely engaging with deal teams to assist with ESG reviews of existing portfolio companies and defining key data and performance measurement
  • Conduct comprehensive ESG due diligence on potential investments, with a particular emphasis on the technology and software industry
  • Provide strategic ESG guidance and recommendations to portfolio companies, working closely with management teams to develop and implement sustainability strategies, and deploy capital of dedicated funds related to sustainability
  • Communicate ESG performance and initiatives to investors and various stakeholders
  • Engage with portfolio company executives, industry experts, and other stakeholders to enhance understanding of ESG risks and opportunities
Who we are looking for
  • Demonstrated strong commercial acumen and strategic planning skills across managing consulting, investment banking, PE or industry roles
  • Proven experience or exposure to the software industry and digitalization
  • Demonstrated expertise in overseeing and implementing operational ESG projects, gained through hands-on experience
  • Exhibits high credibility when interfacing with management teams, showcasing a professional and trustworthy demeanour
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Understanding of key ESG metrics including an ability to analyse and interpret trends and insights.
  • Data analysis and reporting skills, including technical fluency to analyse financial, operational and ESG performance of companies
  • Exposure to carbon accounting, and to sustainability-linked policy development, management, or implementation
  • Commercial acumen to support ESG progress and driving a sustainability agenda
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and creativity
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, consistently contributes fresh ideas and perspectives
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
