Job Description

Youll take responsibility for certain key outputs from the team, these will include Risk Appetite Statement, ICAAP and Governance processes/oversight. Youll collaborate with the business to ensure the ongoing development of the coverage and the quality of the Risk Management practices including Risk and Control Self Assessments, Action Tracking, Risk events and thematic reviews and Risk Appetite monitoring.Youll partner with key business areas in order to provide insightful support and challenge, as well as supporting the other members of the Enterprise & Operational Risk function.About usThe Quilter Group is a leading provider of advice, investments and wealth management, with a portfolio of £118.7 billion of investments on behalf of over 900,000 customers worldwide (as at October 2019). About the roleAs Enterprise & Operational Risk Specialist you will be responsible for;Risk Management - Enhancing the embeddedness of Risk Management practices and the associated tools within QI (via Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), Risk Appetite, Risk Events, Risk Training).Reporting - Responsible for delivering insightful risk reporting with regards to Action Tracking, Risk Appetite Statement, QIL Policy Suite, Policy Compliance and Governance Reviews (relating to both the model and individual reviews).Governance - Coordinating of the Letter of Representation Attestation and ongoing QI Policy review processes within QI. Conducting effectiveness reviews of QI governance arrangements.ICAAP - Responsible for the development, coordination and reporting of the stand-alone QI ICAAP operational risk scenarios, Wind-down and Reverse stress-testing exercises and ongoing participation in the Quilter Group process.Action Tracking - Maintaining the actions log, adding new actions, tracking progress, liaising with action owners for updates and producing status update MI.Training - Increase risk awareness and the application of the various risk management tools (i.e. Appetite Statements, Action Tracking, Risk reviews, Risk Events), as well as facilitating RCSA workshops with key stakeholder groups and ensuring that RCSAs are a true and fair representation of the business.Supporting the QI CRO by producing high quality and timely minutes from the QI Risk & Governance Committee and the Joint Risk & Compliance Committee with key Service providers; and supporting the roll-out of the new Group-wide Risk System across QI.About youYou will be a proactive self-starter who is able from the outset to work independently under pressure, to learn from experience and to take the initiative. Youll have strong interpersonal and communication skills, being able to build relationships and communicate with people at all levels and to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.Youll have strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a variety of tasks and responsibilities whilst delivering on promises. As well as the ability to analyse issues and formulate options for resolving problems.Youll be focused and to care about the quality of your work, collaborating and supporting the existing team and to maintain focus on the common goal. Youll be prepared to persevere to get the right outcomes and have a desire to ask questions, to absorb information, to learn and be able to apply learning to risk management in the business.Youll need knowledge and experience of investment management and risk management with a good understanding of the COSO ERM Framework and its principles and experience of data analysis, the creation of MI Reporting and Risk Reporting. Youll need strong IT skills (in particular Excel) and the ability to source and manipulate large quantities of data.
