Job Description

An exciting new opportunity to work with one of the leading data and artificial intelligence provider based in London. Their patented technology has gone from strength to strength offering innovative data engineering solutions for clients looking to revolutionise their customer experience and bring huge returns in revenues. Due to this exciting new advancement and success in AI technology the company is looking to grow significantly in their database and data architecture teams based in their London office. Part of this expansion plan has opened a new type of position for an Enterprise Data Optimisation Lead that will work closely the Database Administration and Data Architecture teams. The office has a central location with excellent links for those looking to commute into the city on a daily basis. Candidates with a strong background as a Lead Database Administrator or even a Technical Architect or Enterprise Architect who likes to be hands on with code would be a strong fit for this position.Core function of the role

  • Leading a team of data specialists to deliver significant change to the enterprise landscape
  • Identify the strategic areas where data can be simplified and unnecessary costs and operational efficiencies improved
  • Provide detailed data design and data processing technical guidance
  • Identify and improve inefficient data designs/processes to improve quality
  • SME code reviews
  • Work side by side with Data Architecture and BD Management to ensure best practice
  • Provide input into data architecture governance and principles
  • Hands on with looking at improvements within code as well as willingness to code yourself.
    • Experience required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience of designing and implementing enterprise data solutions
  • 3+ years of Database Management experience working with MYSQL, Greenplum, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Netezza or Oracle Databases, ideally in Linux environments.
  • Experience in planning and executing change management activities to ensure process changes are correctly implemented, measured and maintained
  • Possess breadth and depth technical understanding and have the ability to put technical issues into simply layman’s terms
  • Excellent understanding of the data architecture discipline, processes, concepts, and best practices
  • Experience formulating the right KPIs and drive improvements through appropriate analysis followed by impactful initiatives with measurable results
