Job Description

The Enterprise Architect will be a focal point for strategic IT leadership, enabling the alignment of business and IT strategy across the organisation and external partners and supporting the execution of IT and data related investments to meet business goals.The role:

  • Lead and be accountable for the development of Enterprise Architecture function and framework, sharing best practice and promoting the business value of the Enterprise Architecture, its processes and results.
  • Manage the development and implementation of effective governance processes to ensure IT developments are aligned to the enterprise architecture framework.
  • Establish business partnering with the senior business leaders, change directors and key stakeholders across the enterprise to identify business drivers, goals and desired future state capabilities to inform strategy formulation, IT enabled change planning and innovation.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of the target (and current) state architectural blueprint and transition roadmaps based on analysis of the business desired future state capabilities to facilitate investment planning and decision making to improve and drive the business forward.
  • Define and maintain the Enterprise Architecture policies, meta-model, principles and standards to ensure they are relevant, visible and applied consistently across the whole of the organisation.
  • Participate in change portfolio inception activities to drive coherence with the target state architectural blueprint and roadmaps and ensure opportunities for architectural alignment.
  • Drive continuous and effective oversight and governance of all architecturally significant changes to the data, application and infrastructure estates (aspirational, planned, reactive and live) to ensure engineering integrity and quality of solutions at all stages of development and to consistently apply the best EA approach.
  • Contribute as a key member of the Technical Design Authority and Architecture Board to facilitate alignment to the target state blueprint and transition roadmaps.
    • Skills and Experience:The ideal candidate will have experience within Insurance, Financial Services or e-Commerce Sector. You must be a self-starter, a natural leader, technically competent and used to communicating and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in enterprise, application and information architecture design with significant experience managing the delivery process.
  • Have a sound understanding of translating business strategy and goals into a compelling and actionable architectural blueprint and roadmap to support the delivery of business outcomes.
  • Strong experience in strategy and architecture development and execution in large corporate or government environments.
  • Strong technical skills background with ability to pitch opportunities appropriately.
  • Experience in designing, delivering and supporting complex IT systems.
  • Experience in coordinating business, data, and application, security and infrastructure architects.
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of modern technologies, platforms and integration approaches across hybrid environments and show a willing to keep abreast of advances in technology, concepts, practises and industry direction.
