Engineering Manager / Software Development Manager (Distributed Systems) *Remote UK / WfH*. Are you technologist seeking a role where you can lead and develop a first class engineering team working on cutting edge technology You could be joining a highly regarded provider of serverless real-time infrastructure for the Internet that processes billions of messages a day and powers everything from live chat and VoIP calls to real-time pricing and stock availability for a multitude of services around the globe. As an Engineering youll partner with the CTO to design and architect the infrastructure, services and client software, collaborating with the Head of Product and Developer Relations to formulate the technology roadmap. Youll prioritise and optimise the product backlog and define the development processes for large scale, distributed, real-time systems, setting the technical direction.Much of your role will also be around building, leading and enabling the Distributed Systems Engineering team to perform at their best. Youll provide technical leadership and mentoring to around six engineers with plans to expand this to twelve by the end of the year.The platform is written in Node with elements of Golang and Elixir; theyre currently using: Flutter, Ruby, Go, Swift, Kotlin, TypeScript, Dart, Clojure, Scala, Python and PHP; you dont experience with all of these but will need to achieve buy-in with the team.The company is able to offer a completely remote interview and onboarding process as well as fulltime work from home, youll collaborate via Slack (occasional visits to the office in North London could be required for team meet-ups, tech talks, lunch and learn events when social distancing is over).Requirements:*You have a genuine enthusiasm for technology and a broad range of software engineering experience, likely to be an open source contributor and attend tech meet-ups*Youre an accomplished technical leader, able to recruit, develop and retain top class software engineers / developers *You have exceptional planning and execution capacity with an ability to monitor progress, take corrective action when necessary and communicate changes*Youre a confident and pragmatic communicator, collaborative and keen to share knowledge whilst continually learningAs an Engineering Manager / Software Development Manager you will earn a competitive salary (to £100k) plus benefits.Apply now or call to find out more about this Engineering Manager / Software Development Manager opportunity.
