Job Description

Engineering Manager - Remote - Permanent. Engineering Manager - Remote - Permanent.Plexus has teamed up with an exciting start-up who desire to revolutionise the means of open decentralised communication.The Company:

  • An alternative communications platform.
  • A determination to make conversations confidential, ensuring the maximum privacy for their customers.
  • A growing team of 150, across multiple countries.
The Role:
  • Working with your colleagues in the design and product organisation to strengthen the understanding between your teams objectives and the overall company strategy.
  • Manage the efficiency of your teams engineering delivery and eliminating all obstacles.
  • Taking responsibility into the constant professional development and growth of your engineers and ensuing they are perfectly supported to deliver on their goals.
  • Contribute code, where up to 20% of your time is spent acting as an individual contributor.
  • A mediator amongst other areas of the business.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of; Agile, XP and Lean methodologies.
  • Familiarity of managing a high-performing team of engineers.
  • Keen to collaborate with Product aspects such as management and full lifecycle, alongside UX Design.
  • A passion for the technologies used by your team and a commitment to keep your technical skills sharp.
  • A strong acknowledgement for the pace and trade-offs of an early start-up.
Nice to haves:
  • Experience as a developer on a complex react based web application.
  • History of working in an open-source environment.
  • A strong interest in the world of decentralised and/or messaging technology (Professional experience is beneficial but not required).
  • Experience of both managing remote staff and working remotely.
