Job Description

Salary: £30,000 per annum, full time. Part time 4 days a week considered.Location: Clerkenwell, central London and some flexible home workingContract: two years, with possibility of extensionSAVE Britains Heritage is a high profile independent charitythat campaigns for historic buildings under threat from demolition or decay. SAVE is at the forefront of national heritage conservation. We stand apart from other organisations by bringing together architects, engineers, planners and investors to offer alternativere-use proposals.We are seeking a qualified professional for the role of Engagement and Events Manager to join us and contribute towards our mission: to campaign for threatened historic buildings and places across the UK. Working with the Director, this roleis responsible for maintaining and enhancing our growing supporter base of Friends, Saviours and donors, through managing a programme of year round events and communications.The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator in verbal, written andpresentation forms. They will have good interpersonal skills, working collaboratively with colleagues, and supporting a busy year-round calendar of events and activities.Major areas of responsibility and related tasks include:Supporters Manage supporter engagementthrough written communication on-line and in-person Identify and recruit new potential supporters from existing and new sources Ensure supporters have access to events, and are regularly updated on projects and activities through e-news, emails and lettersMaintain and help grow the SAVE supporter base through the Donorfy database Liaise with the office administrator regarding processing renewals and supporter administrationCommunications Manage production of bi-annual printed newsletter, liaising with the Directorand team regarding content, managing the external designer and printer Manage and draft our monthly supporter e-news Manage the mailing lists, in-line with GDPR requirements Update and create SAVE webpages as needed Draft copy for the bi-annual SAVE newsletterEventsManage and curate a programme of events aimed at retaining existing supporters and widening our supporter base such as the annual lecture, on-line and in-person events Organise and help host on-line supporter events, including managing Eventbrite ticketingand Zoom platforms Support for fundraising events, and bespoke tours Manage formal and informal feedback for future event programming and organisation Liaise internally with colleagues to link events with campaigns and caseworkProjects Provide support to theDirector with project reporting and grant applications where necessary Co-ordinate and manage advertising revenue for the printed SAVE newsletter, and Buildings at Risk Catalogue (where applicable)JOB SPECIFICATIONEducation and Experience Degree in a relevantsubject (Art History, History, Archaeology, English or qualification in Events Management, Marketing, Fundraising or similar) 2 years plus experience in charity administration - preferably within an organisation with a heritage or cultural focus Experienceof writing, designing and sending e-newsletters, managing membership programmes and databases Experience of updating and creating content for websites and supporter communications Experience of managing events (eg lectures, tours, on-line events) Experienceof working flexibly within a teamSkills Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Excellent interpersonal skills (including the ability to work well with staff at all organisational levels) Highly organised and detail oriented with demonstratedability to manage multiple priorities and projects, and to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment Results oriented: target and deadline driven Good computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Demonstrable knowledge and interest in theheritage sector Willingness to travel: we work across the UK and occasional travel and weekend working should be expectedAbout SAVE Britains HeritageWe are a small and very busy organisation working out of shared offices in Clerkenwell, London.
