Our challenges have become particularly acute during the pandemic but, by sharing facilities and expertise in a tri-borough agreement with Westminster City Council and Hammersmith and Fulham, we have sustained joined-up health and social care services that put residents at their heart. We support peoples independence and wellbeing, and work hard to enable them to live in the community with dignity, choice and control. However, when mental health crises occur, our Duty Team of AMHPs are ready to act.The Role:This is an opportunity to use your mental health expertise in a frontline role, working across three flagship boroughs. Covering hospital emergency departments, police stations and health-based places of safety, you will join a five-week rolling rota to provide emergency support for weekday nights, weekends and Bank Holidays. Although you will have considerable scope in the type of interventions you offer, you will always have the backing of an on-call manager throughout your decision-making process. You will also have access to an AMHP forum and a wide range of in-house resources and expertise.About You:You will be a qualified and registered Approved Mental Health Practitioner, with experience of working with people in crisis, including older adults, vulnerable adults and people with learning disabilities. In all cases youll be capable of building rapport and quickly establishing empathic and supportive relationships. In-depth knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and The Care Act 2014 is essential.
