Job Description

Embedded Linux Engineer Alfen is delighted to be working with a world class developer and manufacturer of video conversion and AV Signal distribution technology. With over 30 years experience and offices within the US as well as Research & development and manufacturing facilitieswithin the UK.This company is currently looking to expand within its engineering, R&D and product development functions. Were on the lookout for talented Embedded Linux Engineers to join their flexible working opportunities, with the company providing a friendly workenvironment.Job Description & Experience:

  • Providing exceptional customer service.
  • Work well alone, as well as collectively within a team.
  • To be able to listen to, and discuss solutions that contribute to the delivery of a great customer service experience.
  • Deliver Embedded and application software.
  • Meeting product targets.
  • Have a proactive attitude in recognising problems and proposing potential solutions.
  • Create innovative products for professional and broadcast A/V applications.
  • Working as part of a dynamic, multi-disciplined design team.
  • Delivering leading edge video display.
  • Facilitate delivery of agreed goals.
  • Flexibility - This role will require you to work both remotely and within the office.
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience with embedded linux and/or android development and open source software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Full knowledge and implementation experience of multi-threading and multitasking applications.
  • Be familiar with source code control systems (e.g SVN) and using them to facilitate stable release and point fixes.
  • Previous experience of software/firmware implementation and debugging.
  • Proven Experience of design using C.
  • Numerate degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in software design with Embedded applications.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years hands on experience of working in an Embedded development environment.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience of GNU toolchain.
  • Knowledge and experience of ARM SOCs.
  • Experience of working in an agile scrum development environment.
  • Experience of human interface device design.
  • Experience of BSP and configuration tools.
  • Experience of networking socket API and IPv4, IPv6, REST and protocols.
  • Experience of coding in an RTOS environment.
  • Any experience of video digital standards (HDMI, HDCP, SDI, Codecs, Audio) and their implementation.
