Job Description

Are you an experienced Electronics & Software Design Engineer professional looking for your next opportunity to work on products involving complex systems with audible, visual, mechanical, electronic and software content Do you have experience working through designs from the initial specification through to production Are you competent using PCB and Software design tools as well as Microsoft Office packages for writing various reports, engineering calculation, test plans and reports, accessing registersIf you are an Electronics & Software Design Engineer looking for your next role then this is an outstanding opportunity to join an independent manufacturer of high performance audible and visual lifesaving signal systems.Electronics & Software Design Engineer Requirements:

  • The candidate will ideally have an HNC / HND or preferably degree qualification in electronic design.
  • Candidates will have at least 5 years experience of electronics design and software developments.
  • The candidate will have a strong engineering background with knowledge of design processes and best practises.
  • Candidates will be required to ensure designs meet all specifications and CE marking requirements such as EMC and the low voltage directives.
  • The candidate will be required to prepare reports on project progress and development testing carried out.
  • The candidate will have experience with test and instrumentation equipment.
    • Electronics & Software Design Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Good understanding of analogue circuits and design principles
  • Circuit Design - analogue and digital as well as PIC microcontrollers - using Altium schematic capture and layout
  • Able to program; Write and debug code - for PIC 8 bit & 16 bit microcontrollers in Assembler and C language.
  • Design for ease of manufacture and assembly
  • Able to benchmark / reverse engineer and analyse circuits
  • Averse with latest electronic developments in component format
    • Desirable Attributes of the Electronics & Software Design Engineer:
  • XC8 & XC16 Compilers
  • Microchip development tools
  • PC-Lint and SIL compliance
  • Knowledge of hazardous location electronics
  • Design of electronics used in wide temperature range products
