Job Description

Electrical Contracts Manager / Estimator required in London - £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, plus expenses and 28 days holidays.Our client is an established family run electrical installation and repairs company, situated in Marylebone central London. The company was started 49 years ago by the current managing director.Most of their clients are property management agents in the high-end market. Their estimated work ranges from £500 to £150,000.Based in central London, this role would suit an experienced electrical contracts manager or individual looking to transition from a site role into design/estimating/contract management role.Responsibilities

  • Liaise with clients and carry out site survey to identify and specify electrical works required.
  • Prepare scope of works, estimates and job proposals for clients.
  • Ensure electrical works are designed and installed in compliance with all relevant standards and regulation.
  • Manage and provide technical assistance to office and site based staff.
  • Lead and motivate staff for whom you will be responsible.
  • Manage health and safety of site based staff, completing risk assessments and method statements where required.
  • Through regular site and office visits, develop and maintain a strong relationships with clients
  • Monitor and assist withthe companies work in progressand carry out invoicing when required.
  • Checking and signing off test certificates* and quoting any associated remedial works
    • *We would be keen to speak with candidates who have previous experience working as NICEIC/NAPIT/BAFE qualifying supervisors or who have suitable experience and qualification for these roles.Experience and Qualifications
  • Demonstrate supervisory experience of electrical installations works.
  • Possess relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ, 18th edition, 2391, 2396, , HNC/HND etc.)
  • Demonstrate good client management and communication skills
  • Experience testing electrical installations
  • Experience working with emergency lighting and fire alarm installations
  • Knowledge of lighting and control systems
  • Show a proven record of quoting electrical works
  • Live within a commutable distance of the London W1 office
  • Candidate must be computer literate with good letter/email writing skills and happy working with spreadsheets/job-costing software.
