Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a highly regarded and national development consultancy on the hire of an Economic Consultant to join their Infrastructure and Economics Team in London to work on big and complex projects across the UK!In this role you will:o Provide research to help maintain the companys reputation at the forefront of the industryo Prepare written evidence to support the case for developmento Undertake impact economic impact assessmentso Assist and write the five-dimension business cases, compliant with the Green Booko Work with quantitative and qualitative data - make innovative maps, charts and graphs to illustrate your points (GIS skills are desirable, but not essential and training will be provided)o Undertake statistical analysis (demographic and economic)o Engage with clients, planners, architects and technical specialists to manage information and understand, shape and assess development.Additionally, for senior consultant and above: o Build your industry presence through client relationships and networkingo Lead small projects and take responsibility for deliveryo Mentor and train more junior members of the teamAdditionally, for associate and above o Understand and manage budget and project financeso Start to win work and build an industry profileAbout you You:o Have an interest in infrastructure, built environment and economics of developmento Are keen to understand and influence the impacts of development on society and the economyo Have a can-do attitude, keen to solve problems, work collaboratively and challenge yourself and others to achieve the best outcome for your clientso Are a strategic thinker, understanding how decisions affect outcomes at a societal levelo Will be an excellent communicator, able to make your case clearly and decisively in writing and/or in meetingso Will be numerate, with a high degree of confidence working with numbers and using statistics to inform, shape and evidence your argumentso Have a Degree or equivalent experience. Degrees or equivalent in geography, planning, politics, maths, economics, business and social sciences are relevant but core skills and commitment are more important than specific academic backgroundSalary / Benefits o For assistant consultant levels: some work experience with core transferable skills (£26,000 to £30,000 annually excluding discretionary and EOT bonus) .o For consultant levels: relevant experience required (£28,000 to £40,000 annually excluding discretionary and EOT bonus) .o For senior consultant levels: relevant experience required (£38,000 to £50,000 annually excluding discretionary and EOT bonus) .o For associate: relevant experience and relevant specialisms (£50,000 to £75,000 annually excluding discretionary and EOT bonus) .InterestedOur client is an ambitious and supportive team committed to the development of employees - you will benefit from working directly with Directors and Associate Directors, as well as the companys wider programme for training and development.
