Job Description

The role involves Conferencing and Banquetingplus a variety of Facilities Management responsibilities.What we hope you can bring to the role Youll have experience working in hotels with conference/ events and banqueting operations. A key part of this role will involve dealing directly with clients; we aim to deliver exceptional customer service every time and youll bring your experience inthis area to help us achieve this.A flexible approach to working hours is essential to ensure the venue has appropriate coverage and meeting the demands of the Duty Manager Rotas.   • To anticipate and understand our customers needs and expectations
  • To meet all clients on arrival to introduce them to Savoy Place and explain the Fire, Evacuation, Health and Safety procedures and COVID secure procedures.
  • Assisting with the measurement of SLAs and KPIS each month, in order to exceed the Business Development Research Consultants kpis
  • Ensuring that you are accessible and show a presence throughout the venue, interacting with members, guests, staff, contractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure that clients third party contractors work safely and protect the Savoy Place fabric
Facilities Management
  • To assist the Operations Manager to manage engineering contractors and concierge, security, housekeeping, support services assistants and catering service.
  • To assist the Operations Manager in ensuring the building and facilities are fully operated with limited down time to members, guests and staff.
  • To ensure that all reactive maintenance works are reported and followed up with
  • To be a nominated person regarding the sale of alcohol on the premises.
Financial Management & Sales Development
  • Ensures the appropriate procedures are adhered to, to maintain profitably within budget
People Management & Development
  • To be responsible for the Front of House Teams and Members area
  • Carry out training to the Team as required
Health & Safety
  • To ensure the staff and users of the venue comply with all current H&S legislation.
  • To be a trained First Aider and the responsible person for Fire Safety at the venue in the absence of the Senior Duty Manager or Operations Manager
Planning & Organising
  • To ensure proper interrogation of the Rendezvous Booking System to prevent operational issues
  • Ensure effective Duty Management, Porters, Concierge and Reception cover at all times
Information Management & Administration
  • Assist in producing a weekly report for the Head of IET Venues and Facilities detailing operational issues and appropriate updates.
A little more about what were looking for
  • OND or equivalent in hotel/event and catering management.
  • Experience in hotels with conference/events and banqueting operations
  • Well presented, with excellent customer service skills and awareness
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
  • Planning, organising and delegating tasks and duties
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word and Excel
  • Good spoken and written English
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends where required.
Desirable
  • Experience at a deputy management level of a 4* venue/hotel
  • Experience in dealing with FM, Contract Caterers and AV contractors
  • Experience of using a computerised booking system
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
  • Trained First Aider
  • Health and Safety Experience and Audits, Risk Assessments
