The Client Transport depot at Fforestfach operates approximately 70 vehicles. A typical day at the services would be transporting service users, who may be Elderly, have a Physical or a Learning Disability, to one of many locations within the boundariesof Swansea Council. These locations would comprise Day Centres, Evening Centres, various clubs and training centres. We also convey children to and from school. In addition to this we also convey out-patients to and from hospital appointments in partnershipwith WAST.Our fleet consists of a range of vehicles that include cars and accessible mini buses of various sizes. As a Driver you will be required to hold a full driving licence with a D1 category (101 restriction) or a PCV licence, dependent upon the vehiclesyou would drive.The post requirements will include responsibility for our service users safety and comfort during their journey, for ensuring wheelchairs are secured properly plus assisting passengers on and off our vehicles.When not involved in driving,other duties will include assisting with the running of activities and supporting care at day centres and clubs.Transport is an essential part of Social Care and without it some of our service users would not leave their homes, meet up with friends, learnnew skills in our day centres and be able to enjoy life.There are 3 posts available all temporary for 1 year.The working hours we can offer will be a minimum of 20 hours per weekFor further information please contact Cathy Williams, Transport Manager, FforestfachTransport Depot on (01792) 522975.
