Job Description

About this role: The candidate will be focussed on the relationship management and business development supporting the continued growth of Wells Fargos energy portfolio in the EMEA region. In this role, you will:

  • In partnership with their peers, senior stakeholders and product partners, represent the bank in developing, supporting and leading client relationships within the energy sector. Specific focus on clients with clean / new energy generation (eg. renewables)and associated infrastructure. Existing and prospective clients include those within the energy industry investing in decarbonisation and sustainability initiatives.
  • Formulating, articulating and executing team strategy. Helping guide the strategic direction of Corporate and Investment Banking EMEA Energy business as it relates to energy transition
  • Lead business development efforts in addition to the completion of transactions for existing and target clients within the energy sector.
  • Origination, structuring, and executing transactions related to investment banking, traditional corporate, project and structured finance and / or other credit related and cross-sell products
  • Proactively identifying cross-sell product opportunities and take a lead role in leading client engaging adding value to both existing and prospective client relationships
  • Actively involved in the preparation of transaction credit approvals including documentation, technical and financial due diligence, risk analysis, risk rating, underwriting, presenting to credit, and coordination with product partners when applicable.
  • Monitor the credit quality of the portfolio including identification of key risk factors as well as the development of financial projection models
  • Proactively seek to mentor, assist and train junior team members
Required Qualifications, International:
  • Experience in Corporate Banking Relationship Management, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Job Expectations:
  • Experience working in Finance, Banking or Advisory specifically in senior coverage roles with project / structured financing products ideally within the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors
  • Extensive experience originating, structuring and executing transactions related to corporate banking, project and structured finance and credit related products. Strong technical acumen.
  • Preferred existing Corporate and / or Investment Banking relationships and portfolio management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to thoroughly and independently analyse credits and concisely communicate findings
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability. Strong leadership attributes.
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills, including financial modelling and analysis of financial statements.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to build consensus amongst a wide range and disparate stakeholders.
  • Banking and / or accounting qualifications.
