Job Description

Director of Technology

Reporting to the CEO, this is an exciting opportunity to be this charitys first appointment in the role of Director of Technology. This greenfield opportunity will develop a new digital culture and make a profound difference to the charity, the wider technologyfunction and their clients.This role will contribute to the charitys overall strategic and corporate leadership and development including business and budget planning, and risk management, and working collaboratively with senior colleagues and the Board to deliver the strategic planand working alongside Senior Leadership colleagues, direct line reports and other stakeholders to transform the approach to and use of IT and technology. They are looking for someone who can set the vision, strategise and implement the future IT & technologyfunction.Key deliverables in the role are;
  • Inspiring and embedding a think digital culture across the organisation.
  • Identifying opportunities and deliver solutions for modernisation, process, and cost optimisation across the organisation.
  • Leading, motivating, developing, and supporting direct reports and their teams to deliver high-quality internal service management and support functions, ensuring the IT functions effectively support delivery of the Charitys core work.
  • Building a lean, agile solution delivery function.
  • Reviewing our current supplier base to ensure strategic fit and value for money.
  • Developing data, analytics, and business intelligence strategy.
  • Identifying strategic change opportunities and oversee the development and implementation of digital transformation projects, including but not limited to;
  • o The implementation of a new contact management centre for the Helpline
  • o The re-tendering and migration of case management database (IMPACT)
  • o The automation and integration of back office systems
  • Project sponsoring all operational and development projects from an IT perspective whilst providing expertise to support wider digital projects working in conjunction with the Project Management Office.
  • Overseeing maintenance and management of all websites and associated content management systems
  • Defining and managing CAPEX and OPEX budgets to ensure optimal use of the charitys funds.
