Director of CommunicationsHealth Innovation NetworkBase:London Bridge (travel across south London required)Hours:Full time/Part-timeContract:permanentSalary:(Band 8d) - £82,804 - £94,644 p.a. inc. high cost area allowanceWe seek an experienced, creative and organised individual to join the Leadership team at the Health Innovation Network and spread the word about what we are doing to speed up innovation in health care across south London and beyond.As a Communications team, we are responsible for promoting the work we do within our AHSN network and nationally. We do this through providing strategic communications and support to our executive and internal themes, proactive and responsive media and stakeholder relations, engaging social and digital channels, creatively promoting our brand and inspiring internal communications.Leading our Communications team, you will provide strategic communications advice. You will also oversee the development and delivery of comprehensive communications strategies for Health innovation network; contribute to the communications support to the whole organisation, lead on projects and campaigns that support the delivery of our objectives and business decisions; and work closely with the specialist communications experts in the communications team to deliver creative and effective communications strategies.NHS experience is not essential, although it is desirable. As an Academic Health Science Network, we are the innovation arm of the health and care sector. We strive for innovation not only in health and care but in our communications and engagement. Creative professionals with experience delivering evidence-based, creative and content-led campaigns would also be viewed favourably.The right candidate will have a major interest in healthcare improvement and be strongly motivated by our work and our values. AHSNs spread innovation, improve health and generate economic growth by connecting academics, the NHS, social care and industry. We do so by creating partnerships, enabling collaboration and responding to the needs of patients and populations. • Supporting the NHS to deliver a step-change in the way it identifies, adopts and spreads best practice, clinical innovations and new technologies more quickly and at scale in order to meet the enormous challenges in the NHS Long Term Plan.• Enabling innovative companies to grow and create jobs, especially in the life sciences sector, depends on helping the NHS and the life sciences industry to engage more productively with each other, focused on defined local needs and backed up by a credible evidence baseThis role is based at our HQ which is located in the vibrant Borough Market, next to the Golden Hinde, close to London Bridge tube station and would involve contact with any of our member sites across the twelve boroughs of South London, as well as across London as we work very collaboratively with partners, so the post-holder will need to be happy to work in a mobile capacity.You will work to our Chief Executive, Zoe Lelliott within an experienced team at the Health Innovation Network team, with colleagues with real expertise in service improvement, innovation and digital.
