Job Description

Job Title: DirectorContract: 12 Month + Contract 4 days a week (30 hours per week)Working Model: Hybrid and London officeRate: £30.77 per hourStart Date: January 2024My client, a Charity Foundation Arm of a Professional Services Membership Body is currently recruiting for a Director role, reporting to the Chair.Main Responsibilities of the Director:

  • Develop the fundraising strategy and lead its delivery, prioritising donor care and supporting the trustees to achieve income targets, adapting strategy as necessary.
  • Work with the Trustees on delivery of the fundraising strategy as agreed by the Board of Trustees
  • Create budget tracking and monitoring tools to enable timely reporting.
  • Support Trustees to deliver their mission by leading fundraising and grant-making operations.
  • Work closely with the Chair and the Trustees to ensure that they are provided with the information they need to conduct their oversight role effectively.
  • Build strong relationships with trustees, donors, supporters, grantees and partners, including across the organisations executive.
  • Prepare materials and management information for the Trustees.
  • Ensure appropriate policies and procedures for all areas of their activities are established and maintained.
  • Work with their Finance team to ensure income and expenditure are correctly recorded in the accounts and a high-quality audit trail maintained.
  • Lead grant-making operations and line-manage the Grants Manager.
  • Ensure robust and clear processes for awarding grants in line with their funding principles.

  • Be an active and positive advocate for the organisation on a day-to-day basis and at external events where required.
  • Provide excellent customer service in dealings with all people, including trustees, donors, supporters, stakeholders, beneficiaries, their colleagues and Members, people worldwide and their community.
  • Lead by example, living the values of the organisation: inclusivity, responsibility, collaboration.
