You can find out more about the work we do at our website .Job descriptionThe Digital Forensic Unit (DFU) is responsible for the handling of all digital evidence seized or acquired by the Serious Fraud Office. This includes the collection of evidence on site, forensic processing of any items seized or received from third parties, and the processing of these items into a medium that Case Teams can access through the SFO Digital Review System (DRS). DFU analysts are required to carry out a number of tasks on day to day basis working with investigators and analysts. They provide support to Digital Forensic examiners and their workload can include tasks such as Forensic imaging and acquisition, processing mobile devices, liaising with case teams, validation and testing, reporting clear and concise details of progress and findings.ResponsibilitiesSome of the key responsibilities for this role includes: ? Working under the supervision of experienced DFU staff, assist with the acquisition of digital evidence in accordance with SFO procedures, ACPO (NPCC) and the Forensic Science Regulators guidelines. ? Process, prepare and analyse acquired data for ingestion into the SFO Digital review platform. ? Perform additional analysis on data to extract potential evidential information.
