Role/Department Description: Content & Technology Solutions (CTS) is the industry leading content delivery platform. Clients seamlessly access organized and connected content that is easily discoverable, explorable, and procured via the Open:FactSet Marketplace. Data is delivered via a variety of technologies and formats that meet the needs of our clients workflows. By enabling our clients to utilize their preferred choice of industry standard databases, programing languages, and data visualization tools, we empower them to focus on the core competencies needed to drive their business. The SBU contributes over $173M in ASV, with a double-digit year-over-year growth rate. Our solutions portfolio includes Standard DataFeeds, Data Exploration, OnDemand (API), Views, Cornerstone, Exchange DataFeeds, Benchmark DataFeeds, the Open:FactSet Marketplace, and other non-workstation initiatives. CTS is seeking a lead engineer to contribute and lead a newly founded team within the Open:FactSet initiative, specifically in the area of Client Environments. With Client Environments, CTS is building cloud-based solutions that allow our users to more easily consume the FactSet and Provider Marketplace feeds, with a goal of providing a frictionless experience that empowers clients to focus on their core competencies rather than data management. Currently these include Data Exploration, Managed Database Services, Snowflake integration, AWS Data Exchange, with plans to expand into additional third-party data exchanges. All of these represent areas of potential significant growth in feed sales. Responsibilities • Play a major role in architecting, building and enhancing existing and new environments • Help build a new, eventually Agile, team • Collaborate with internal groups such as Cloud Team and Standard Datafeeds • Collaborate with external vendors such as Snowflake and Microsoft • Balance stability and innovation in operational areas related to databases, runtime, on-call support, and deployment procedures • Communicate with stakeholders regarding project status, challenges and obstacles. Qualifications • Senior Software Engineer or above • Track record of success on large scale projects in collaboration with others • Demonstrated leadership ability • Experience with python, powershell, and/or go preferred • Relational database experience, preferably with MSSQL • A realistic, pragmatic approach, encouraging prototyping and iterative development • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Experience in cloud development a plus
