Job Description

Job Title: Digital Communications Manager Contract: Temporary, Full Time Working Model: Hybrid - 2/3 in the London office and rest from homeRate: £20.19 - £26.54 per hour Start Date: 2nd January 2024 initially for 3 months (possible extension)My client, a membership organisation is currently recruiting for a Digital Communications Manager to work on a temporary basis.Purpose of the roleThe candidate will be an all-round communications professional who has a strong focus on digital to help promote the work of the organisation and its members. As well as supporting the day-to-day work of the press office, you will also be working on widercommunications projects - in particular planning and executing ongoing and new campaigns such as promoting greater diversity and inclusion across the sector, highlighting the support for low income and vulnerable customers and initiatives. In doing so youwill be able to use your experience and expertise with social media, content creation, design and publications.Main Responsibilities of the Digital Communications Manager:

  • Delivering high-quality and impactful multi-channel communication and campaigns.
  • Deputising for Chief Press Officer as and when needed.
  • Proof reading assets/collateral that is published by the organisation.
  • Managing and overseeing the work and output of the Digital Communications Executive.
  • Supporting the rest of the team with media relations work when needed.
  • Generating PR and media opportunities from campaigns activity.
  • Developing relationships with the wider UK team to support and build communication and engagement skills with colleagues, identify content, and plan and support potential campaigns.
  • Working with the Inhouse Designer to ensure that their communications are designed in an eye-catching manner with compelling content, across all their channels.
  • Working with their membership to identify opportunities and collaborating on content.
  • Overseeing weekly members newsletter and other publications.
  • Maintaining their existing campaign on improving diversity and inclusion in the sector.
Essential Skills:
  • Experience with media relations, wider communications work and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent proof-reading skills is a must.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with responding to media enquiries, writing and issuing press releases, briefing journalists, preparing colleagues for media interviews.
  • Experience working with social and digital media.
  • Experience in content creation or acquisition and ability to produce creative, exciting, and engaging communications.
  • Experience in managing projects on time and to budget.
  • Highly motivated, flexible, and well organised - dealing with tight deadlines and delivering under pressure.
Desirable
  • Using InDesign would be desirable.
  • Production, editing, or design skills.
  • Experience working in energy or a similar field.
  • Management skills, particularly line management (matrix or direct).
