Job title Diary Manager to the Chancellor of the Exchequer (12 month maternity cover)Salary£26,750 - £31,000Contract TypeFixed Term Appointment of 12 monthsWorking pattern:This post is available on a full time, part time or job share basis, and flexibleworking hours can be accommodated.LocationLondonAre you interested in playing an important role in a key government Department that offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the decision making that affects the whole of the UK If so, wed love to hearfrom you.We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Chancellor of the Exchequers Office Team.The office is led by the Chancellors Principal Private Secretary, who is supported by team of 5 private secretaries, a Diary Manager (the post holder),two Registry Managers and an Office Manager.The post of Chancellor of the Exchequer has been held by Rishi Sunak MP since February 2020. The Chancellor is the governments chief economy and finance minister, responsible for raising revenue through taxationor borrowing, controlling public spending, and overall stewardship of the economy. He has overall responsibility for the work at HM Treasury.The Chancellors Office is looking for a high-calibre candidate to lead on the overall management of the Chancellorsdiary. This is a fast paced, demanding and influential Private Office role at the heart of the Treasury and Whitehall, which is crucial to the smooth running of the Chancellors Private Office and the Treasury more broadly. The postholder will work in closecontact with the Chancellor and his senior team to balance government, departmental, parliamentary, and personal priorities, supported by a friendly and collaborative Private Office team.Key accountabilities include:Ensuring the smooth running of the Chancellorsdiary. The post holder will be responsible for arranging and handling the Chancellors meetings and appointments. Managing all incoming invitations to the Chancellor, acting as a filter for the flow of information to and from the Chancellor and his PrivateOffice. Supporting the private secretaries in the day-to-day running of the office, and diary managers in other ministerial offices. This could include welcoming visitors, and coordinating to ensure HMT ministerial representation for key Government and Parliamentarymeetings and functions. Responsibility for records management of the diary.The previous postholder also provided additional executive assistant support to the Principal Private Secretary.
