Job Description

DevOps Engineer - Python, Linux, AWS - Amazon Web Services, Splunk, Docker.Working at a Major Brokerage House - Candidates will have 2+ years DevOps experience with Strong Python Scripting and possibly come from a Linux Systems Administrator background (RedHat).Whilst ideally looking for someone that ticks all the boxes at the upper end of the budget, more junior candidates that have the core technical skills that may require some training will also be considered and hence a broad salary range from £50 to £80k + Bonus + Bens + OTDevOps Engineer - Role Overview:

  • Responsibility for the teams builds/deployments and interfacing between Development, Support and The Business.
  • Ensure software is built, tested, versioned, packaged, configured, deployed and supported in the most efficient and effective way.
  • Liaising with both Development and IT Operations to understand how best to deliver software.
  • Automation. The objective is to automate all steps required from a developer checking in a code change through to it being used in production.
  • Ensure delivered systems are of production quality. Ensure software is adequately documented for handover to the business.
    • Essential Skills:
  • Excellent Python Scripting - Minimum 2+ years (ideally 5+) In A DevOps Role
  • Background in Linux Systems Administration - RedHat
  • Strong Knowledge of AWS - Amazon Web Services - and Deploying Cloud Services
  • Server Configuration Management - Puppet
  • Experience Automating deployments to Windows and Linux Servers in a production environment
  • Experience working in an agile workplace across development and support teams
    • Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with Docker
  • Some knowledge of Splunk
  • Experience with Terraform/Packer
  • Experience with packaging MSI, Nuget, NPM
  • Experience with Continuous integration and deployment either Jenkins/Bamboo or equivalent.
    • Other Non-Essential Skills:
  • Previous Financial experience - Futures & Options Trading / Settlement Systems.
  • Ultra-Low Latency / HFT
  • Linux / Unix System Administration - RedHat, Ubuntu, Solaris.
  • Knowledge of at least one of the ISV’s products - Trading Technologies, Stellar, ULLink, WebICE, Object Trading, Fidessa, ION / Patsystems, Trayport.
  • Exchange Connectivity - ICE / LIFFE, Eurex, CME / CBOT, Xetra, Chi-X, LME, LSE, NYSE.
  • FIX Connectivity - Client On-boarding, Support / Troubleshooting of FIX Logs / Connections.
  • Other Market Data - Reuters, Bloomberg, CQG, Ateo (Teo and Lisa).
