Job Description

DevOps Engineer | AWS | SC clearedSR2 is building an entire DevOps team for a large government department in Essex. Our consultancy client has won a support contract and as such is looking to hire 6 people onto the programme with a view to start in December.The role will offer a split of remote and onsite working in Southend-on-Sea.Due to the nature of this role candidates will require active SC clearance.Experience required:

  • Active SC clearance
  • Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using either Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef, CloudFormation or an equivalent
  • Experience with continuous integration, automated deployment, testing and relevant tooling
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is required)
  • Experience coding in at least one programming language (Python, Golang, Nodejs or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
  • Familiarity with containerization, Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, ECS etc
  • Working experience on CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Gitlab. Must have familiarity and skill with the more common version controls tools
