For furtherinformation about Nomura, visit www.nomura.comDepartment overview:The successful candidate will work within the Desktop Support Function which is part of the wider Digital Workspace Stream.Desktop Supports role is to provide first and second line support for all areas of the business from Global Markets, Investment Banking and the Corporate departments (Exec office, Finance, HR, Operations, Facilities, Risk, etc.)Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure stability, reliability and availability of applications and services for the business.
  • Act as an escalation point and go to person for banker queries relating to support, technical questions or general process and procedures.
  • Own and manage issues and any escalation ensuring they follow established policies & procedures
  • Create and maintain all operational documentation, processes and procedures with the aim of building and maintaining a knowledge base of banking IT nuances.
  • Ensure new joiners have all necessary equipment day one and follow up with training and overviews of IT processes and procedures
  • Help with Corporate IT projects that affect banking (e.g. Office 365 implementation or Laptop software upgrades.
  • Collect diagnostics and other supporting evidence to identify root cause & problem trends.

  • Ability to initiate, organise and progress project activities with minimal supervision.
  • Networking - ability to bring together various Tech teams to help provide solutions (eg. Networks, Messaging, Engineering)
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • Strong understanding of platform administration tools such as (AD, SCCM, Group Policy, PowerShell etc.)
  • Good Understanding of network components such as (DHCP, DNS, Firewalls, VPN, RDP, PCIOP and Blast protocols)
  • Experience with Endpoint security tools such as (Antivirus, Ivanti, Posture checks etc)
  • Working Knowledge of ServiceNow
  • Exposure to VMware (VDI) & Citrix (Director / VDA) platforms both as an internal and remote access solution
  • Exposure to Mobile Technologies (iPhones, IPads, etc.) with MDM
  • Exposure to Cloud Technologies such as (Office365, BOX)
  • Good knowledge of infrastructure technology with particular focus on workspace technologies
  • Proficiency in the use of SharePoint, Confluence and Jira
