Job Description

Our client is an established consultancy in the UK Water Sector. They currently have several contract vacancies for Principal Civil Design Engineers / Design Managers to work on delivery projects in their Reading and London office for Amp 7.Role:

  • Get the technical requirements with the Project Definition briefs and maximise value to understand all risks and their mitigation including recommendations for who owns process risk liability.
  • Improve Technical Asset Standards.
  • Provide design sign-off to between Asset Management and Capital Delivery as the delivery stream dictates.
  • You will be working across the full spectrum of engineering delivery. Will include feasibility, optioneering, detailed design, outline design, final design, through to construction support.
    • Experience:
  • Waste water projects delivering infrastructure (pipeline) projects
  • Clean Water distribution networks and Clean Water Treatment & pumping stations
  • Waste water treatment & pumping stations.
    • Responsibilities:
  • Lead the engineering discipline within the company.
  • Provide Project Definition Briefs.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering requirements.
  • Provide sign off for technical delivery.
  • Support the establishment of a sustainable engineering structure from graduate to industry experts that lead engineering requirements into AMP 7 and beyond.
    • Requirements:
  • Degree level (Civil / Structural/ Mechanical) or equivalent in an engineering discipline and with professional Chartership.
  • A recognised leader in your engineering discipline including process and analytical instrumentation and possibly electronic security systems likely with extensive experience including a significant amount in the water industry.
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment to achieve compliance with our engineering regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills both internally and externally.
  • Collaborate and ability to influence senior colleagues.
  • Budget management experience.
