Job Description

Deputy Service ManagerWe are recruiting for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed Deputy Manager, with experience of working with adults with a learning disability/autism and complex needsOur client has been providing high-quality support and care servicesto vulnerable people for more than 40 years in London and has grown from strength-to-strength.Role: Deputy ManagerLocation: East London (Hackney)Salary: £27,378 per annumContract: Full Time PermanentHours: 38 hours per weekClosing date: 9am on 20th May 2022Interviews:week beginning 23rd May 2022About the role: This is an exciting opportunity to utilise your skills to support the Team manager in coaching and mentoring a staff team, and also embedding high standards in the running of the service. You will be deputising inthe ASD/LD supported living service located in Hackney, consisting of 4 self-contained flats designed to support the skills building needed to increase the independence of people with autism and/or learning disabilities and behaviours of concern.This serviceis providing a real opportunity for people who may have been in previously unsuitable/unstable housing, or in hospital settings, to have their own flat with support that enables them to thrive and enjoy a good quality of life, as active and valued membersof their community.The charitys autism and PBS specialist services have a strong reputation across East London, with support designed around the persons personal ambitions and choices. PBS training will be provided to develop the successful candidate intoa PBS coach, and you will be working closely with the Positive Behaviour Lead to create a culture that promotes Positive Behaviour and Active Support values and practice. The role involves teaching people new skills and ways of communicating which reducesbehaviours of concern.About you: You will need to bring with you the following skills and experience: Experience of managing a service for people with a learning disability/autism and complex needs A qualification in Positive Behaviour Support Coaching (BILDaccredited), or a willingness to gain the qualifications within the first 3 months An excellent communicator liaising effectively with key stakeholders Experience of staff management and the ability to lead, motivate and develop a large team The ability tothink creatively and be adaptable in approaches, with experience of implementing emergency management guidance to support staff. Experience of carrying out needs assessments and creating support and risk management plans for people with behaviours of concern.A commitment to providing high quality, personalised active support You will share the values and passion to engage, enable and empower people with autism or a learning disability to lead the lives they want.
