Job Description

Devereux Chambers is a leading set of 54 barristers, including 11 QCs, supported by an experienced and enthusiastic team of practice managers and business services staff. Our principal fields of practice are in commercial litigation; serious injury and clinical negligence; employment and tax.Chambers is seeking to recruit a Deputy Practice Manager. The prime focus of the role is practice and client development. The successful candidate will be expected to ensure the efficient and structured organisation of the relevant team of barristers.The Deputy Practice Manager role includes general clerking and administration duties on behalf of an appointed team of barristers, as directed by a Practice Manager and the Chambers Director. The successful candidate will be required to deputise for the Practice Manager, as necessary and will be responsible for supporting and overseeing the work of the team’s Assistant Practice Manager, providing at desk training as required.Candidates should possess a minimum of 5 GSCEs at A-C (or equivalent), including maths and English, excellent interpersonal skills, a focused and proactive approach and be articulate and client friendly.
