Job Description

Quest Search & Selection are partnering with this fast-growing, B2C online Publication within the FMCG, Consumer, Tech & Retail publication. This business has been established for 15 years and focuses on latest industry news, including senior appointments, consumer trends, and financial reports for their leadership global audience,.This role is to recruit for a Deputy Editor for their Retail Food/Grocery/FMCG publication.The roles and responsibilities of this Deputy Editor -

  • You will work alongside the group editor to help shape the content of a publication in the exciting field of retail food and manufacturing.
  • You will be exploring the trends in food retail & food suppliers; shaping the future of how we shop, understanding the brands, the retailers and everything else in between.
  • help set the news agenda and features content to help continue to grow the audience of this online publication.
  • Understand how to create and promote engaging content.
  • Writing and editing industry news stories and pipelining compelling features,
  • Managing & assist with the development of a junior journalist
  • Representing the company at industry events, visiting the latest store openings
  • interviewing senior leaders in the retail and technology industries.
To be successful in this Deputy Editor position-
  • The ideal applicant will have 3 years+ of journalism experience and a portfolio of published articles.
  • You will be operating as a Senior Journalist or Junior or Deputy Editor level
  • Interest or experience in the retail or grocery sector is desirable
  • Must have trade or B2B journalism
  • A sound understanding of SEO and social media strategies to maximise online visibility of content
  • Ideally have led a junior journalist or intern
  • Excellent writing, proof-reading and editing skills.
  • An ideas person - you must be able to generate interesting content ideas that will resonate with our online audience
