Job Description

Deputy Director of Operation / Band: 8DRESPONSIBLE FOR:The post holder is required to deliver on the following key outcomes as identified through the DOps, in conjunction with the Clinical Director, DDNT and CBU Managers:

  • Ensuring delivery of patient centred, high quality, responsive and efficient services
  • Ensuring adherence with regulations, performance and contractual indicators
  • Working closely with commissioners, to develop services that respond to local need
  • Plan, Implement and evaluate new models of careworking collaboratively with CCGs, STPs and
  • Local Authority partners
  • Lead on the delivery of performance across the division, including all performance metrics and QIPP.
  • Lead on performance reporting for the division
  • Support the delivery of the Trust’s response to local integration
  • Support the delivery of borough / CCG based transformation
  • Manage relationships with key local stakeholders
  • Manage (including performance and financial management) of business team and change function
  • Deputise for Director Ops as required
  • Location: Westminster LondonTemporary: Expected to last 3 months with possible extensionHours per week: 37.5 hours per weekSalary: £47 to £55.66ph (Umbrella) or £42 to 48.35per hour (PAYE)Qualifications
  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent combination of degree and post graduate clinical or professional qualifications, management training and experience.

  • Has specific in-depth knowledge of the challenges facing health and social care
  • Experience

  • Substantial experience at senior management level in a public sector organisation, with a proven track record demonstrating successful strategic planning and implementation
  • Experience of having provided health and/ or other public sectorservices.
  • Can demonstrate experience of leading, introducing and managing major change programmes
  • Evidence of significant and measurable outcomes and achievements at both strategic and operational level that impacted positively on organisational objectives
  • Evidence of successful audit, risk assessment and management in a complex environment
  • Proven experience of managing and motivating diverse teams
  • A full and demonstrable understanding of the drivers for public sector reform, and specifically of the NHS policy agenda
  • Demonstrable understanding of primary care, acute services and the health and social care agenda.
  • Has demonstrable experience of effective partnership working with
  • other organisations at a senior level, preferably a mix of public,private and voluntary sector
  • Experience of establishing effective financial management and control procedures
  • SERVICE MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP
  • Deputise for the DDO when required
  • As part of a triumvirate with the ADQ and Clinical Director, provide specific governance, support and leadership to the division.
  • Support the DDO to lead the operational delivery of community health services in line with national standards, regulations and local commissioning strategies, ensuring that they are delivered safely, in partnership and to budget in line with the Trust’s duties of clinical governance, financial balance and partnership.
  • Support the DDO to develop and lead a team of divisional senior and service managers responsible for day to day operational management of services.
  • Develop and nurture links with commissioners, and stakeholders/partners to promote locally based services and to identify ways to meet their needs more effectively:
  • o Discuss and agree service requirements with commissioners and work with them and other key partners to define and meet delivery specifications.o To work with commissioners to implement new models of service provision,o Ensure close working and effective relationships with key local partners including provider partners, Local Authorities and GPs.
  • Assist the DDO to ensure that the divisional services are managed efficiently and effectively:
  • o Within budgets and to the terms and standards of agreed contractso Meeting the relevant regulatory requirements of the Care Quality Commission and regulatory bodieso Delivering monthly service performance reportso Driving improvement through effective performance managemento Ensuring agreed improvements in the efficiency of systems, processes and use of personnel are achievedo Developing the capability of CBU managers to support decision making Required skills
