Data Scientist - Intern 12-month placement

Job Description

The purpose of the role:• Improve the quality of the data on all asset classes • Improve the investment process by doing more analyses and building new reports for traders and PMs. Main responsibilities:• Simplify our architecture and queries where possible and clean up trading databases on all asset classes • Implement daily checks to guarantee the datas quality and ensure the data is consistent amongst all asset classes • Improve the trading databases by incorporating new metrics • Build a state of the art TCA on equities, FX and listed derivatives • Enhance management and regulatory reports (multi-asset, BECOM, investment committee) • Find ways to improve liquidity and minimise transaction cost • Help the Electronic Trading and Data team to automate the trading workflow. Your ProfileWhat the internship will offerAs an intern, youll be immersed in a financial environment and learn about asset management and trading. Youll gain experience in working first-hand with data scientists and traders to research and apply the latest quantitative techniques to solve businessproblems. Education/Qualifications• Currently pursuing a masters degree in mathematics, finance, and data science (final year student) Experience• Prior internship experience in data science or quantitative trading is desirable but not required Knowledge and Skills• Strong numerical and analytical background • Interest for quantitative finance and research • Deep academic knowledge of mathematics fundamentals: probability, statistics, analysis • Knowledge in programming and data management (Python, SQL, Tableau) Competencies• Curious and eager to learn • Aptitude for problem solving and finding clever solutions to complex unstructured systems • Ability to articulate ideas clearly with sharp communication skills and a teamwork mentality • Proactive, results-oriented • Fluent spoken and written English About AXAWould you like to wake up every day driven and inspired by our noble mission and to work together as one global team to empower people to live a better life Here at AXA we strive to lead the transformation of our industry.
