Job Description

My client, a top 200 law firm in the UK, is looking to recruit a Data Privacy Solicitor to join their vibrant City office.This is a hugely exciting opportunity for an ambitious Solicitor with a track record in working on complex, data privacy and e-privacy matters, to build on your existing experience with a hugely varied caseload acting for high profile clients.This is a hands-on role, which presents a great opportunity for the right candidate to shine in a small team, and become an integral part of the team’s drive to grow the firm’s reputation for data privacy legal services.The role involves assisting senior lawyers with specific tasks on significant, complex cases, managing a small portfolio of your own cases of lower value, dealing with clients on a daily basis and assisting in the team’s various marketing efforts with a view to you building your own reputation within the local market.The data privacy team encompasses specialisms within Employment, Commercial Contracts and Regulatory law, which means the firm is ideally placed to act for a huge variety of clients on highly complex and challenging data privacy and e-privacy legal matters.Duties will include:

  • Drafting and amending data privacy and e-privacy compliance documentation
  • Working on data privacy audits
  • Advising on electronic marketing, online advertising and cookies
  • Guiding clients through / handling personal data breaches
  • Dealing with individual rights requests (especially subject access requests
  • Advising on, and drafting, documents in relation to data sharing operations (including outsourcing arrangements)
  • Working on matters relating to data analytics, artificial intelligence and big data
  • Drafting data privacy provisions in commercial contracts
  • Advising on the data privacy elements of corporate transactions
