Job Description

Data/Portfolio Analyst Competitive salary + attractive benefits package + bonusSW LondonWe are currently working with the Asset Finance division of a successful bank, to recruit a Data/Portfolio Analyst, with a background in Financial Services, who has specific experience of data analysis and portfolio evaluation.The role will focus on analysis and evaluation of the portfolio, the automated decisioning system and collections activity, looking at trends and development to enhance the Risk offering, and to support Sales, Business Development and Collections.Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Scope, plan and assist in the delivery and testing of data marts for providing clear data across the portfolio
  • Identify issues within the portfolio and use data to propose solutions for effective decision making
  • Assess the effectiveness of data sources and data-gathering techniques and improve data collection methods
  • Merge, manage, interrogate and extract data to create reports
  • Interpret patterns of activity, outcomes and modelling for future scenarios
  • Monitoring, measurement, analysis, evaluation and reporting of risks
  • Monitoring, development and implementation of new processes to improve data quality
  • Early detection and resolution of any data errors
  • Make recommendations for improvement
  • Look for opportunities to use datasets across other functions
  • Provide support in the form of portfolio data collation and trend analysis and/or market data
    • To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate:
  • Experience within the Asset Finance/Leasing sector or similar Financial Services environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience in database interrogation and analysis tools such as Hadoop, SQL and SAS
  • Experience in VBA or exceptionally advanced Excel skills
  • High level communication skills with the ability to explain the mechanics behind data analysis
  • Commercially minded
