Job Description

Working as a Data Manager you will be part of a project that will help to harmonise processes within the Finance organisation, elevate the Indirect Procurement teams and help all parts of the organisation to work with state-of-the art technology and optimise purchases. Your role will be to work together with the different Finance and IT functions at a Regional and Global level to define and implement data standards around the project.Client DetailsMy London based client is a globally recognised CPG organisation operating in the Retail industry.DescriptionMy client - a London based globally recognised CPG organisation operating in the Retail industry is looking for a Data Manager to engage in the following:Drive data definitions and alignments in the domains of:

  • Vendor data and classifications
  • Approval work-flows
  • Chart of accounts and financial dimensions
  • Payment terms
  • Integration of existing master data elements at Chanel
    • Master Data Management ongoing data governance:
  • Coordination with the system integrator for upload of master data elements
  • Establish the data links between global master data and local ERP configurations to be built into the integration processes
  • Animate workshops to define data governance principles and relevant stakeholders
  • Define processes for data creation / modification / deletion
  • Document data related processes and communicate in the respective communities
    • Lead data cleansing exercises:
  • Define approach and methodology of data cleansing exercises
  • Communicate approach to stakeholders
  • Work with a data analyst and the subject matter experts during the data cleansing exercise
  • Monitor progress with the local/regional stakeholders
    • Data migration and cut-over plans
  • Work closely with the regions/countries to identify the most appropriate data migration plan in the different local systems
  • Keep in mind both metadata aspects as well as open transactional data that has to be migrated
    • ProfileTo be considered for the Data Manager position at my Retail clients site in London, the candidate must present evidence of the following:Professional Qualifications:
  • BS or BA required, preferably in Accounting, Finance or Information Systems. MBA or CPA is a plus
  • Strong experience on ERP software, mainly AX and SAP in regards to Finance and procurement processes
  • Financial software certification is a plus, particularly in S2P solutions such as Coupa, Ariba, iValua or Basware
    • Working Background:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data architecture, systems implementations/administration and/or accounting
    • Core Competencies:
  • Strong technical and analytical skills through experience with ERPs, especially Dynamics AX and SAP, ideally also through implementation projects
  • Expert knowledge of data modelling, management tools, methodologies, and technologies
  • Ability to effectively diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex problems pertaining to data and data infrastructure
  • Strong experience in project work and working under tight deadlines
  • Deep understanding of Finance Processes, especially in financial accounting, accounts payable and indirect procurement
  • End-to-end process thinking
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Effective decision-making skills
