The Data Governance & Operations Director (EMEA) is a divisional role that is responsible for implementing foundational data management and governance policies, standards, and procedures for all EMEA data domains. This leader will report directly to the EMEA COO (who is the Executive Data Owner for EMEA), will have an indirect reporting relationship to the Assistant General Counsel UK and the Chief Data Officer for the Enterprise, and will work closely with multiple EMEA stakeholders. This role will build a team of data product owners and stewards to ensure data is connected, clean, and complete across the credit domain for key business decisions, external reporting, risk management, and business value driven through insights and analytics. - Data Governance & Stewardship Implement enterprise data governance policies, standards, procedures and tooling, ensuring EMEA specific jurisdictional requirements are addressed (primarily UK focused). Lead stewards to identify, prioritize, and define Key Data Elements (KDEs) and onboard them to the corporate data catalog (Collibra). Design and operationalize a "SOX-like" data quality monitoring program with control ownership and data certification. Measure quality of all EMEA KDEs and develop/execute remediation plans with business and system owners Represent EMEA data domain to internal and external audit as well as regulators along side the Chief Data Officer - Data Products & Operations Design innovative data and analytics products that will enable connected, clean, and complete data across the EMEA domain improving efficiency and reducing risk Maintain operational ownership and information security of existing data assets and build roadmaps for the migration of those assets to the enterprise data platforms and tools. Drive the re-design of key business process to consume from the enterprise data platforms and tools representing the EMEA data domain. Liaise cross functionally to achieve required enhancements/changes. Close partnering with Enterprise Data teams where shared services are provided to ensure SLAs are maintained and adhered to (including but not limited to Business Continuity and Data Recovery & Incident Management) - Enterprise Data Governance Drive a risk-based prioritization of data sub-domains and data elements Provide data quality reporting and remediation plans to the Enterprise Data Office tracking the ongoing progress and maturity of EMEAs Data Governance program Drive business adoption of enterprise data platforms and tools within the domain in partnership with cross-functional business teams, CDO, architecture, and technology Extensive proven experience in Data and Analytics, including experience in financial services and/or Commercial and Consumer Banking Executive presence combined with negotiation and strong communication skills, including the ability to explain Data Governance and complimentary technologies to business leaders, as well as business concepts to technologists; the ability to sell ideas and products internally at all levels Skilled in implementing data, analytics, and master data products, platforms, and tools Skilled in Agile framework methodologies and product management Skilled in hiring for modern delivery talent (e.g. Product Model) Skilled in implementing multi-functional data programs e.g. finance, risk, and credit ,in support of regulatory requirements Experience of delivering against policies and procedures required by UK regulators - including but not restricted to requirements for data governance, data operations, data privacy, data security and business continuity. Broad experience desired, in multiple domain areas, such as data warehousing, business intelligence (BI), data governance, data architecture, data integration, data classification, data strategy, data quality management, data security and privacy, MDM, data standards, regulatory compliance, and enterprise architecture frameworks. Exceptional people management skills with ability to recruit high performing talent and demonstrated leadership / proven track record of leading complex, multidisciplinary talent teams in new endeavors Knowledge of Financial Services Regulatory and Supervisory requirements, specifically for large financial institutions
