Job Description

DATA ENGINEERING PROJECT LEADERENTERTAINMENT BRANDWEST LONDON- PICCADILLY LINE£60,000A household Media and Entertainment brand are looking for a Data Engineer to join their Customer and Marketing Analytics Business Area and be responsible for working with both the engineering and technical team as well as the stakeholders in order to understand the business issues and data challenges and use those to design an appropriate solutionTHE COMPANYThis company is a very well known brand in the media and entertainment space and have a great reputation for using data effectively and investing in technologies. Equally worth mentioning they have been performing well through the Covid 19 situation and have a product offering which lends itself well to the current climate.THE ROLEAs a Data Engineering Project Leader you would:

  • Work with stakeholders to understand the business needs and data challenges and be able to consolidate these and convert into effective solutions
  • Design data models and ETL pipelines to meet requirements efficiently
  • Work with the team to reiterate the business context to the solutions theyre working on in order to understand impact and support the development cycle
  • Help define analysis best practice and standards and ensure consistency across the team
  • Be able to evangelise the work of this team across the business
    • SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEA successful Data Engineer Project Leaderwill have:
  • Strong experience delivering analysis and feasibility projects across large data warehousing projects and be familiar with dimensional modelling and ETL design in large scale data environments
  • Experience effectively translating and disseminating complex business requirements into user stories which are easily followed by teams
  • Excellent SQL coding ability and ideally experience in cloud based environments like Google Cloud/AWS/Snowflake
  • Experience in high volume databases such as Teradata and netezza also very useful
  • Great communication skills and someone who enjoys and is acutely aware of the technical side and commercial effects of the workbeing done and data being platformed
