Job Description

Data Engineer:

  • 6 month Contract (Inside IR35).
  • Fully Remote if preferred for you (client based in London).
  • Circa £725-£750 per day (depending on exp).
    • Client and role for Data Engineer:Were currently helping a global, award winning, digital media organisation to hire a Data Engineer on a 6 month contract in the team responsible for Data Technology.Our client work in an agile manner utilising DataOps and MLOps methodologies. They use GCP as their data platform supporting the development of their data assets and advanced analytical models.What you’ll be doing as a Data Engineer:
  • Mostly be programming in Python and/or Scala, Terraform, SQL and running in GCP, but they use the tool that best fits the problem.
  • Work with data warehouse technologies inc; BigQuery, DataProc, Apache Spark, DBT and Cloud Composer (Apache Airflow).
  • Build a new generation of tooling to support our data engineering projects.
    • Skills and experience needed for Data Engineer :As a data engineer, youll be equally willing to create data tools for analytics, insights and business performance metrics whilst building the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data.
  • Exp of MLOps and collaborating with data scientists to deploy models into production.
  • Comfortable working with other teams (inc data science, data modellers product teams).
  • Understand the importance of data quality and have familiarity building quality data assets.
  • You are confident translating product and business requirements into technical solutions.
  • You have extensive experience building data pipelines for large datasets using ETL/ELT.
  • You understand security best practice and have hands-on experience implementing it.
  • Experience working on GCP is highly desirable.
