A leading multinational insurance company who have won multiple awards as a best employer in the last few years are looking to hire 2 experienced Data Engineers to join their quickly growing department. They are offering a fully remote working patternand fantastic opportunities for personal and professional development within the role. As a Data Engineer you will be responsible for developing and maintaining solutions, as well as transforming data that can be used to help drive tactical and strategic decision-makingwithin the business. This roles comes with a £60,000 - £80,000 salary + 5% bonus for the right candidates.Responsibilities:* Work within a multi-disciplinary engineering team to develop and implement products by applying knowledge of design principles, procedures and practices* Apply extensive knowledge of design principles & patterns, procedures and practices* Participate constructively in architecture, design, coding and security reviews* Contributes to the relevant scrum events; sprint planning, user story creation & refinement, daily scrum, sprint review/demo and retrospectives* Contributing to shaping the data strategy* Develop and manage technical documentation to agreed standards* Contributing to Data Quality and Governance (e.g. Data Retention).* Implementation planning/documentation and execution.* Support, maintenance, monitoring and logging of existing solutions.* Continue to develop your own skills and awareness of new tools, processes and technical developments relevant to your area of expertise* Creating Data Extracts (e.g. Aggregator, Axiom, JL)Experience:* Strong experience with Pyspark and Databricks, with any experience with Scala being advantageous* Experience with cloud technologies, including compute, storage, account permissions, networking etc. (Ideally both AWS and Azure)* Good experience with Big Data Technologies (Kafka, Delta Lake etc)* Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms and design patterns* Ability to understand TDD and automated testing* Understanding of code quality and ability to setup appropriate tooling* Ability to set up a standard CI/CD pipeline when appropriate* Experience with GITBenefits:* Range of flexible working options, including fully remote working across a 36.25 work week and TOIL in return for any extra work* Annual pay reviews and performance-related bonus* 25 days holiday + bank holidays + option to buy more* Access to Databricks university and many other excellent development opportunities along with a supportive leadership team
