Job Description

Data & Analytics ManagerBased: South London or home Salary Up to £50,000This charity is a leading innovator in collecting, analysing, and sharing data to improve the understanding and treatment of a chronic disease affecting nearly half a million people in the UK.Working with stakeholders across the health sector, you will be a key individual in using data to improve clinical outcomes and treatment for a very debilitating condition.This is a pioneering and challenging role that will have considerable positive impact through the innovative use and connection of data from numerous sources.Responsibilities:

  • Collate and assure high quality data.
  • Oversee and improve the ongoing ETL process (using C#, JSON and XML)
  • Manage a secure data platform (MySQL database, SFTP transfer platform, API data transfers)
  • o Manage the main data capture systems (REDcap and InfoFlex tools) as well as the APIs/exchanges with third party datao Support development of relevant Forums and User Groups for the Charity dataset, data capture tools and processes
  • Maintain and update the master version of the core Charity dataset
  • o Map the Charity dataset to other datasets as requiredo Work with clinical teams and organisations to integrate the Charity dataset into their clinical or hospital systems
  • Understand the Charity Information Governance and Data Security (IG & DS) policies and procedures and ensure effective implementation
  • Manage own and team’s work to deliver tasks on time and to the required standard
  • Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree-educated or higher in a relevant subject (e.g. maths/statistics, biostatistics, science) gained at a leading University
  • Understanding and experience with data manipulation and analysis concepts
  • Demonstrable experience of working with structured data, preferably within a data warehouse environment.
  • Experience in linking datasets, ideally in a health-related field
  • It is essential to have a strong understanding of SQL to curate and analyse data in a database/warehouse
  • Strong working knowledge of statistical analysis and data manipulation tools and languages, including R, SQL, SQL stored procedures and Excel (advanced)
  • Ideally experience in configuring typical tools for health data/ clinical data capture (e.g. REDcap, OpenClinica)
  • Experience in planning, managing, and reporting on projects, demonstrable ability to deliver.
  • A sound understanding of Information Governance and Data Security issues including GDPR and ideally including NHS related IG compliance
  • Methodical approach, with effective attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders
  • Strong team-working skills, with a collaborative approach to working.
