Job Description

Salary: £48,812 - £57,414 per annumJob Location: RemoteHours: 36 hours per weekContract Type: PermanentAbout the roleThe Cyber Security Engineer is responsible for implementing and verifying solutions that mitigate security risks in Clarions networks and systems. Youll collaborate closely with key stakeholders in Group Technology and Change and the wider organisation,acting as a technical authority within the security team and maintain awareness of the current and emerging threat landscape.

  • Establish, monitor and maintain automated processes that aid in alert information enrichment and incident management, while providing technical support to Security Operations in the response to incidents.
  • Contribute to Clarions digital transformation by collaborating with architects and third-parties in the implementation of security tools.
  • Implement, manage and maintain the technical security controls in line with CIS v.8 and NIST CSF, aligned with the security roadmap and the changes throughout Clarions technology estate. Identify control gaps and implement improvements to address them.Maintain metrics to ensure that performance of security controls is well understood.
  • Contribute from a technical standpoint to the evaluation of future security technologies while meeting with security vendors. This includes knowing how to ask in-depth questions that will give the security team more visibility into new tools under consideration.
  • Take ownership of the implementation of Zero Trust architecture throughout Clarions technology estate, which includes network segmentation, IAM (Identity and Access Management) and PAM (Privileged Access Management).
  • Create and maintain security operational procedures, configuration and technical documentation to a high standard.
  • Work closely with the Data Security Architect to further protect access to Clarions services and the flow of data.
  • Collaborate closely with the different architectural, application and infrastructure teams to deliver solutions that have security baked in at the onset.
About youGiven the nature of this role, youll need to have proven experience in a technical IT role, and SSCP or equivalent demonstrable IT security knowledge. Weve outlined the skillsets required below;-
  • Experience with digital transformation and an understanding of the security aspects within it.
  • Excellent understanding of the multiple facets of the technology platform, can independently evaluate and drive resolution of all problems in their core competencies.
  • Detailed understanding of hybrid environments and the complex security risks and control implementation they entail.
  • Have up-to-date knowledge of Microsoft Online Services cloud platforms: Microsoft 365 (including Azure Active Directory, Azure AD , Microsoft 365 E5, Microsoft Azure, Dynamics 365 and Power Platform.) and different Microsoft licencing models withan emphasis on how these relate to security products.
  • An understanding of Zero Trust principles.
  • Significant knowledge of current and future technology trends in the security landscape.
  • Substantial understanding of threat landscape, attack surface and cyber risk management.
  • Outstanding verbal and written skills to communicate with stakeholders at all levels and able to speak about technical things in non-technical language.
  • Passion and curiosity for cyber security with a "security generalist" attitude and an ambition to evolve with the role.
  • A knowledge-sharing attitude by default and experience working in a virtual team.
